All of my life I've always had one solid outlet in which I could get more skilled with and which I could dissolve into as the world and all it's troubles faded away. First it was skateboarding, the full force rush and the need to commit to each trick individually, fully focused, and the price of failure.. I loved it. Then it became music, the way certain notes sounded like they were meant to be arranged in such ways, so appealing to my mathematical mind. It took over the forefront of my life up until early 2011 when my friend told me stories of seeing these people fire dancing while he was traveling. I thought, "that would be so amazing to see.." and seconds later, "that would be so amazing to do!" My blood got pumping and I looked to the internet for a way to start. It wasn't very long until I found others near by doing this same thing. Everything changed and it consumed my life for the better. It was music, but you couldn't hear it, you had to see it, and I had to be moving in order to make it. I realized this and made myself a staircase method of learning, using my failures in self teaching from my previous crafts, to better learn this one from the start. I set a goal, and I did everything I could to reach that goal. I had no idea that I would keep going and end up teaching this craft; let alone traveling the east coast teaching, or end up out west sharing a stage performing with incredibly talented jugglers and movement artists. All I knew back then was that I loved the movement arts and even when I wasn't moving, my mind was. I couldn't stop it, there was an art to it, and I needed to keep moving forwards. I've since started to help organize things like the fire circle in a Minnesota flowfestival and local gatherings for firejams in attempt to give back to the community that's given me so much.

Now I'd like to take the opportunity to share some of the helpful insights and stairsets of learning that I've found in the past 7years of learning and 5 of teaching. I will be presenting one of my favorite 2 part classes, Body Tracing with Poi pt I&II, as well as an Intro to Partner Poi class by my talented and beautiful partner Ariel and myself. We'd be thrilled to have you with us here.
